Crossing The Line

25 January 2012

That’s right, Jaguar have finally decided to have some independence and this, the C-X16 is what they’ve decided to use. After many years of rivaling they’re not so British opponents Aston Martin and constantly bring out the same looking types of cars, Jaguar has stopped copying Aston Martin’s design. And I am pleased to report that Jaguars new baby looks amazing, dare i say better than the new Aston Virage. I think so.

Recently released at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor show, the concept, but ready for production Jag is going to cost £55,000.
It will have a 3.0 liter V6 with a twin supercharger, it will do 0-60 MPH in 4.4 Secs and will reach 186 MPH (Limited) which means Jaguar has stepped out over the line and into the territory of the Porsche 911. But unlike the new 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera, which will reach 31 MPG the Jag will achieve 41 MPG, which for a sports car is not bad, the reason for this is that it is a hybrid.

But not the sort of Toyota Prius Hybrid your probably imagining, this hybrid engine needs 95 BHP just to use it, which is the power output of a Prius anyway.

The Question remains would you have the 911 Carrera for £71,449 or buy the prettier Jaguar and more economical for £16,449 less?
